Why is there now also VEGCAT?
For a long time, it was said that vegan and cats don't mix – we wanted to prove the opposite. And we are starting with VEGCAT PURE BITES: the snack for all cats (and their humans) who want to combine responsibility, health, and taste.
What makes VEGCAT's PURE BITES special?
We combine science, taste, and attitude here – with a dash of feline sass and an even bigger helping of innovation. Our PURE BITES are no off-the-shelf snack, but a small revolution made with fermentation protein.
Is a vegan snack for cats even okay?
VEGCAT PURE BITES are functional, hypoallergenic, and equipped with all the important snack properties – including taurine.
Are there any scientific studies on tolerability?
We source the fermentation protein for our VEGCAT Pure Bites from Microharvest. In a study, cats consumed 51% of the product, while only 34% of the other products tested were accepted (p=0.009). Furthermore, in most cases, the cats responded to the Microharvest product first and ate it before any other.
According to pet owners, 75% of the cats consumed the product in normal or higher quantities.
Can you feed cats a vegan diet?
In short, there is not yet any body of research on a 100% vegan diet for cats. Therefore, it cannot yet be said how it might be possible. History with dogs shows that it can be possible. It was also considered impossible there until science proved that it could indeed be done. That is why we are starting with snacks to show that it tastes good, is well-tolerated, and paves the way for more knowledge about vegan cat nutrition.
Are VEGCAT products scientifically tested?
Yes. Our recipes are developed in close collaboration with veterinarians. Furthermore, they are naturally tested by the real experts: actual cats – with strong opinions.

How often is my cat allowed to have snacks?
As often as you both enjoy it – in small amounts as a supplement to their daily meal. Our feeding recommendation will help with that ;)
How many calories do the snacks have?
Don't worry: Our PURE BITES are small treats with big flavor, but without a calorie overload. One portion (approx. 5 pieces) has ~ 7 kcal – ideal for daily rewards without creating a snack belly.
How long do the snacks stay fresh?
At least a year – but experience shows not nearly that long in the house.
