⚠️ Recall VEGDOG Jerkeys 80 g ⚠️
Important safety information
As a precautionary measure, we have recalled two batches of our VEGDOG Jerkeys 80 g product. It cannot be ruled out that individual packs from the affected batches may contain metal parts. Although we have only received two individual reports so far, we are acting as a precaution – because the safety of dogs is our top priority.
Which products are affected?
Only the following product is affected: VEGDOG Jerkeys 80 g
- Best before date (BBD): 11.12.2026 – Batch: 454
- Best before date (BBD): 14.01.2027 – Batch: 487
- Sales period: November 2025 to January 2026
No other products or batches are affected.
What we have done
Together with the production partner for the Jerkeys, we have investigated and identified the cause. Based on current information, the known cases involve parts of the drying racks used during production. We have already implemented extensive additional safety measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.
Are other products affected?
As we work with different production partners, no other products are affected.
How you can check if you are affected:
You can find the best before date and the batch number on the back of the packaging in the bottom right area next to the barcode. The area has a white background.

FAQ
How high is the risk really for my dog?
As things currently stand, the risk is to be considered very low. To date, we have only two isolated cases in which a metal part was found in the packaging. We are therefore acting proactively as a precaution and recommend no longer feeding the products from the stated batches, as we cannot completely rule out the possibility that a very small number of packs may be affected.
My dog has already eaten the product, what should I do?
If your dog has already eaten the product and is showing no signs of distress, there is no urgent need for action at this time. However, should you notice symptoms such as vomiting, discomfort, loss of appetite, or behavioral changes, we recommend as a precaution that you consult a veterinarian and mention the possible foreign object.
Were there any injuries or known damages?
We currently have no reports of injuries or health problems in dogs. The two reported cases relate exclusively to the discovery of metal pieces in packages that had either just been opened or not yet fully fed.
What do these metal parts look like?
The cases known to date involved thin metal parts originating from drying racks used in production. They can vary in shape and size but are identifiable as foreign objects in the feed.
Are other products or batches also affected?
No, as things currently stand, only the specified batches of the VEGDOG Jerkeys 80g product are affected. Other products or batches can continue to be fed without concern.
Can I return the product instead of disposing of it?
A return is not required, but please dispose of the product as a precaution. For the refund or replacement, we only require a photo of the affected packaging with the visible batch number and best-before date.
Will I get my money back or a replacement?
You are free to choose whether you would like a replacement or would prefer a refund of the purchase amount.
What has been done to ensure that this does not happen again?
Together with our production partners, we have analyzed the root cause and implemented additional safety measures. These include, among other things, increased inspections of the production facilities as well as adjustments to quality management in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.
How can I be sure that your products are safe in general?
The quality and safety of our products are our highest priority, and we work exclusively with certified production partners. We are taking this incident very seriously, and in addition to the precautionary recall, it has led us to further expand our existing control mechanisms. Such cases are absolute exceptions, and we are continuously working to further improve our standards.
I have given the product away/passed it on, what should I do?
Please inform the person concerned about the recall as a precaution and forward our information so that they can check whether they are affected.
